Brief Answer:
Herpes infection low probablity

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You are worried that this weekend that you may have contracted herpes lip infection after drinking alcohol from a bottle from someone with Herpes. The probability of you contracting Herpes after contact is very low. Herpes takes several days after exposure to show clinical signs of infection. The lesion that you notice inside your mouth is probably a canker sore that is not herpes. The canker sore is usually caused by a stress. You can treat the sore with a 1/2 solution of Benadryl and Maalox swish and spit. The solution helps numb the ulcer and will also aid in healing.

In summary
1. canker sore caused by stress
2. use 1/2 solution of Benadryl and Maalox swish and spit
3. Unlikely Herpes.

I hope this answers your question. Please contact HCM again with your helath care concerns and questions

After reading through yor answers, you stated it was a cranker sore cause you thought my contact was this weekend. Since my contact was 35 days ago does that change your answer?

Brief Answer:
Canker sores

Detailed Answer:
We ae not sure what actually causes canker sores. Stress by itself can cause them. Of which your stress over the possible herpes exposure would be possible. So with reducing your stress and using the Benadryl/Maalox solution that white spot on the inside of your mouth should go away.

Should i be concerned about any other stds, hiv, hep c or anything else. As you can tell i am not taking this to well and the internet sucks. You google cranker sores and HIV comes up
doctor
Answered by Dr. Ronald Schubert (4 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No other concerns

Detailed Answer:
You can not become infected with any STDs or HIV through drinking after someone else. These infections are by definition sexually transmitted which means you have to have sex with the person to become infected. The last time I looked drinking from a bottle is not sex.

I hope that helps. You have no additional concerns at this time. Just try to reduce your stress and go on with your life. Practice good personal hygiene and make good health decisions and you will be fine.
