What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Having Unprotected Sex While On Primolut N?
Question: Hi
I took Primolut N tablets for 10days to delay my cycle for a holday. After 10 days I stoppped taking the tablets & withdrawel bleeding started after three days. On the 1st day of withdrawel bleeding (my cycle) I started using the contraceptive tablet - XXXXXXX I havent used contraceptive in about 2 years. (the info sheet in the pack indicated to start using it on your first day of your cycle which I did, it also said I will be protected from pregnancy if I take XXXXXXX on my first day of my cycle).
On the second day of my cycle I had unprotected sex & I have been taking the XXXXXXX from day 1 of my cycle/withdrawel bleeding after using primulot up until now which is day 5 tonight)
My question is what is my chances of being pregnant & is the withdrawel bleeding after taking Primulot - a real period. I do not want to be pregnant now & need to know if I'm safe or not? What other method of emergency contraceptive is available as I live in a country that doesnt sell this. Or am I safe? I have been so worried. Tonight I will be taking the 5 tablet of XXXXXXX Please assist.

You had unprotected sex on day 5 and you are taking XXXXXXX regularly since day 1 of this cycle. Day 5 is almost infertile period- safe period of your cycle. Since you are taking XXXXXXX regularly you are right now protected against pregnancy. There is no need to take any additional emergency contraceptive pill like Plan B.
To be double sure if at all you take the morning after pill it is best to be take it within 24 hours of unprotected sex and it can cause an irregular spotting and menstrual irregularity as a side effect. The withdrawal bleeding after taking Primolut is just like a normal period and conception can happen in the cycle after the bleeding is over.

I am taking my 5th tablet of the XXXXXXX pack tonight (3 November) I just want to be sure that Im not at risk for being pregnant. Also when are you completely safe having unprotected sex on XXXXXXX if you take it religiously. But most important I need to know about my question above.

I have understood your situation. Having sex on day 2 of the period will not cause any pregnancy even if you are not taking any pill as it is the safe period to have sex.
You can continue with contraceptive pill pack. There is no need to take nay additional pill.

So it was safe to have sex. The reduced chances of pregnancy are not because of taking femilon on one day but it will later prevent ovulation in the cycle.
