What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking Dronis-30?

Question: Hi,
My wife had irregular periods, after consulting the doctor she was advised to use Dronis-30.She took the first dose of this medicine today i.e. 21-dec-2015.Now Dronis-30 being a contraceptive can we go for unsafe sex from 24-dec-2015?
Is there any chances of getting her pregnant after we do unsafe sex while she continue to have Dronis-30 daily?

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

Dronis-30 is a combined oral contraceptive pill. Like any such pill, its effectiveness during the initial couple of cycles is not complete and hence, additional protection is needed during this period. There are chances of ovulation and if no added protection is given, conception may occur.

Please use some other protection like a spermicide or a condom for two months. Thereafter, there is no need to use additional protection provided the pill is taken regularly.

Periodic check up by an expert is necessary while on the pill. This is meant to rule out unwanted side effects and take necessary precautions.
