What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking I-pill Within 24 Hours?
Question: hi i had intercourse on 3rd day during my period and also had an ipill within 24 hours... i have not had my period till now. it is 8 days late. i got checked for pregnancy it is negative. i also took progestirone 100mg twice a day for 3 days to try and trigger my period but i am not getting it.
Brief Answer:
Side effect of i pill
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy or due to the side effect of i pill, which commonly delays the next expected period by 2-3 weeks. If your urine pregnancy test is negative, then pregnancy is ruled out. The periods will most probably occur in next 5-6 days. Even progesterone cause withdrawal bleeding within 7-10 days of its intake. I suggest you not to worry at all.

I took the progesterone by reading online that it helps to get periods.. But i dont have the disorder generally associated with progesterone.. I also read that after taking the dosage for a few days and then stopping it will cause the periods... What should i do ? Should i stop taking the pills or should i continue if i should continue then please recommend dosage...my periods have been delayed by 8 days.. So this is alright?
Brief Answer:
No need to continue progesterone
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, thanks for responding. The progesterone which is taken for withdrawal bleeding is medroxyprogesterone in very low dose. The one you are taking seems to be micronised progesterone which is not effective in inducing periods.
Since your periods are most likely delayed due to the side effect of i pill,I advise you to stop taking any progesterone, as the period will come in next 5-6 days.
Yes, it is all right if the periods are delayed upto 2-3 weeks than the expected date, after taking the i pill.
