What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking I-pill?

No alternative pill required
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
I have gone through your question and have understood your concern.
Ipill is an emergency contraception which if taken within 24 hours after the unprotected intercourse has a very good contraceptive effect. Even if taken up to 72 hours after the intercourse, it prevents the pregnancy. It is having more than 75% success rate. So you need not take any other alternative contraceptive now.
Now, please wait expectantly for the menses to appear. By and large they should appear at the regular time. If at all you miss the menses, please do not be panicky. Wait for 8-10 days more in the hope of getting menses. Still if they do not appear, then you may get urine pregnancy test (UPT) and/ultrasonography done for detection of pregnancy. These tests done earlier are non-conclusive and may give false negative results. However, Beta hCG tests are more specific and sensitive and are conclusive within 2-3 days of missed period.
If by chance you get pregnancy, please do not be under stress. Up to 9 weeks, the pregnancy can be easily terminated by medicines. Mifepristone and Misoprostol combination terminates the pregnancy smoothly. However, these medicines should be taken by an Obstetrician's advice and under observation. Follow up visit after 14 days is advisable.
I hope you have got good guidance.
