What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking Micronelle 30 ED?

Question: I started the contraceptive pill micronelle 30 ED on the 23 of August my period was due on the 24th and I haven't got it also my boyfriend ejaculated in me on the 1st, 2nd and 7th of September can I be pregnant, I have taken 4 pills immediately after he ejaculated in me every time, is there a chance I could be pregnant if so what do I do
Brief Answer:
Yes there is a chance you could be pregnant. You need to test for pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM. Please note that the Micronelle 30 ED is not used as post intercourse contraception and thus cannot be trusted to have this effect even if taken in large doses as you have done. Please take a pregnancy test if you are afraid you may be pregnant, it is the best and quickest way to know without all the speculation and anxiety associated with not knowing. And after that at least you can make better informed decisions about what to do next. I hope this helps and good luck.

Was I protected by the birth control? Or not because of when I started, also when should I take a pregnacy test ?
Brief Answer:
Yes you were protected, but nothing is 100% effective.
Detailed Answer:
I would take a pregnancy test 7 days after your late date, so assuming that you should get your periods 24 of September then I would do a pregnancy test on the 1st October. Now, the reason I say that you want to take a pregnancy test now is that you really did not get your period for the month of August, and that means one of two things,
1. After starting your micronelle your hormonal balance was thrown off and you will eventually get your period this month or the next or
2. You are actually pregnant even before you started the micronelle and that is why I was saying that 7 days after your missed period which would have been August 31st I would've taken a pregnancy test. I hope this helps further clarify. Thanks

I 100% know I wasnt pregnant before I started the pill as I had never had sex
Brief Answer:
I would wait and see if you get your period this month then.
Detailed Answer:
I suspect that this will come on, however, even if you didn't have sex, pregnancy is the first thing that is checked. It is just used to rule out a simple diagnosis and then we can move on to searching for other in depth hormonal issues that could be happening.

Okay thank you, is there anything added I can do to ensure I am not pregnant as im not in a postiton to have a baby right now
Brief Answer:
Take the pregnancy test and have your partner use a condom.
Detailed Answer:
You are welcome, I would ask you to have your partner use a condom, remember that the birth control pills do not work immediately you start using them, ideally you want to have been on them at least a month, it is thus recommended that you use a secondary form, like condom, to ensure one does not get pregnant, and of course the ultimate 100% safest way is abstinence.

Can I ask what do you think the chances of me being pregnant are as I was only on the pill for 8 days before I had sex
Brief Answer:
The chance is there, I would say 50/50, so please take a pregnancy test.
Detailed Answer:
The chance is there, you see the chance is 50%, the beauty is that if you take the pregnancy test then that quells that myth.

You said I was fully protected
Brief Answer:
Yes, like I said, nothing is 100% proof.
Detailed Answer:
Full protection is the assumption that the pill works as intended, and has been taken as prescribed and the right amount of time period without any skips in taking the medication. For example, if a lady takes certain medications or antibiotics, the efficacy of the birth control pills gets compromised and they could get pregnant. I would take a pregnancy test to lay your worries to rest. I really feel that this is bothering you and it will continue to until you know that you are not pregnant. The other option is to wait and take the pregnancy test only after you miss this month's menses.

I just took a pregnacy test and it is negavtive what does that mean for me
Brief Answer:
Congratulations, it means you are not pregnant.
Detailed Answer:
That is the news I was hoping for you.
So now moving forward. Please use condoms too. Please talk to a gynecologist about your menses and how long you have gone without a period, I suspect that this is due to hormonal imbalance caused by the micronelle.
I would opt for an implantable option as I suspect you do not want to get pregnant for a while.
Best regards.
