What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Unprotected Sex During Safe Period?

Possibility of pregnancy is there in the second instance.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Hi & Welcome.
I appreciate your concern for the safe (infertile) period for UNPROTECTED penetrative sex.
I have gone through your query, I am of the opinion that
1. There is no possibility of pregnancy if you have ejaculated outside on Day 1 of her menstrual cycle although the pre-ejaculatory secretions contain some active and motile sperms.
2. There may be a possiblity of pregnancy if ejaculation occurs inside the vagina following a penetrative sex WITHIN A WEEK of the menstrual cycle.
On average, ovulation (release of egg from the ovary) occurs 12 to 16 days before the menstrual period begins. A woman is usually able to get pregnant for about 5 days each month, when ovulation occurs. Because the sperms can live for 3 to 5 days in a woman's reproductive tract, it is possible to become pregnant if intercourse occurs several days before ovulation.
Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period or UNSAFE PERIOD.
This could be the explanation for the possibility of pregnancy as given in serial no.2 of opinion.
Period other than this fertile period in a menstrual cycle is considered as SAFE PERIOD.
Hope I could cleared your doubts.
