What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Inspite Of Being On BC Pill?

Question: I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend 3 days before I was suppose to start my period (but he did not finish inside of me). I'm on my third day of iron pills for my birth control and haven't gotten any signs that I'm going to get my period (back cramps which always happen right before I start) I have a yellow discharge. I caught a virus that was going around and it turned into a viral infection then to a sinus infection. I'm taking wal-zry D and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim. Is the medicine throwing off the period or do you think I'm pregnant?
Brief Answer:
Not pregnant.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The chances of pregnancy are almost nil as you are taking your birth control regularly and the sex was just 3 days before the periods. The delay in periods can be due to the infection or even due to the oral pills that you are taking. There is no need to worry. Just start with your next pack after finishing the iron pills even if there is no period.
