What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy When I Got My Periods On Time Which Was Brown Spotting Followed By Bleeding?

Question: Can i be pregnant. I had sex seven days before my period was due. My period was due August 18th! I had some brown spotting on the 16th and 17th then what seemed like a normal period for 7 days with a few small clots on a few of the days. My previous cycle was from 19th July to 25th July. My cycle normally lasts 28 to 30 days. I tested with a hpt after bleeding stopped and it was negative. How long would have to wait to know for sure?

So today is 4th September. 22 days since had sex so if i test negative today i can't be pregnant?
