What Are The Complications During Pregnancy With History Of D & C Surgery Long Back?

No untoward things likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
If you did not have any infection at the time of the procedure in the past and did not bleed for a prolonged period, it is unlikely that you had any complication. Also, if the period in between has been uneventful, there is no need to worry.
Yet, I would ask you to reveal the incident to your consultant now. Any procedure on the uterus is relevant while assessing the case. No untoward things are likely with the past procedure. The very rare chance of abnormal placental implantation with previous procedures on the uterus can be mostly identified through sonogram. Since you do not have such findings, you can relax.
Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

My major doubt is that since i did not take medicines nor go for review after 5 days of the d&c procedure which was prescribed by the doctor,im worried if that would affect my child's growth or my delivery.
Tab.Doxin,Tab.Pan,Tab.Drotin,Zincovit Syrup these are the medicines that was prescribed to me for 10 days after the procedure.
All my scan reports are normal so far and my cervix measured about 3.6cms in 21st week scan with good fetal activity and anatomy.
So please doctor can you please clarify my above mentioned doubts. And suggest me if it is really necessary to tell my doctor about the D&C.
Pregnancy progressing normally.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing back.
The history points at an uneventful journey post procedure. Though you did not have any follow up, recovery was uneventful, going by the history.
This dilatation and curettage does not affect the growth of your baby in any way, nor should it influence the mode of delivery.
As I mentioned earlier, ingrowing placenta is a rare complication with history of previous curettage, especially when the curettage becomes intense with scraping of superficial myometrial layers. This can be diagnosed most often in a high resolution scan. This is the reason why I wanted you to reveal the procedure to your consultant.
It is left to your judgement whether or not to reveal things to your doctor. I have given you the pros and cons of the situation.
Hope your doubts have been clarified. Please get back if you need any more help. I will be glad to do so.
regards,
Shanti.V.
