Brief Answer:
Long term results are good

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Based on the facts that you have posted your wife who has undergone surgery for Right Megaureter and Re-implantation of Ureter was done, I would like to state that the results of this surgery are very encouraging.

Answers to your questions are detailed below:
1) There are no complication of the surgery
2) Prognosis is satisfactory and restores kidney function to near normal
3) No Long term treatment is required except one has to ensure that he/she does not get UTI
4) Repeat surgery is usually not required however if patient develops stenosis at the site of anastomosis repeat surgery may be required
5) The dilated ureter resumes to near normal and helps to restore normal function of the affected kidney
6) It does not recur provided the no stenosis develops at the site of anastomosis
7) Normally No repeated hospitalization is required

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions, I shall be happy to help you.

Thanks

Regards,
Dr. Patil
