Brief Answer:
Very likely there is not going to be a problem especially if the medication in the vial was colorless and transparent.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Amgen Procrit is recommended to be kept in temperatures 2-8 C and literature strongly recommends to not freeze the medication and not use it if it was frozen.

Being hot in the car and having the medication in that temperature obviously is not in the best temperatures but is not as bad as freezing it. I would say that if you got one dose that was in warm temperature but the medication in the vial is still colorless and transparent with no foam or visible abnormal appearance very likely there is not going to be any additional side effects and you are very likely safe.

As any other medication Amgen Procrit has its own possible side effects and if you feel any symptoms please make sure you contact your doctor.

On future doses please make sure you keep the medication in the right temperatures (2-8 Degree C) and also do not shake the vials. Make sure the vials do not get frozen and the medication is a clear color fluid and transparent otherwise please don't use it but talk to your provider.

I hope this is helpful and answers to your question but please feel free to contact me in case more clarification is needed on this.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
