Question: Pros and cons of a cortisone injection in my coccyx? It's a childhood fracture coming back to haunt me.

An old bone injury can cause arthritis in later age. Local cortisone injection will help in reducing the inflammation in the area and will provide you relief for 4-6 weeks.
Recurrent injections can be harmful causing bone thinning. Occasional injections can help but the pain takes 4-7 days to gradually reduce. It does not help with the pathology but provides relief for some time.
