Brief Answer:
Possible only if you have Situs inversus.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.

To recapitulate: Male/73 years - pain in low left of abdomen and wants to know appendix problem is always on the right.

Appendicitis is always a right sided problem as this is the normal anatomical position it has and hence the pain of appendicitis will be on the right side unless one has a condition called Situs inversus. In this condition the organs of the chest and abdomen are exactly in the opposite sited, for example heart on the right and liver on the left and so on.
And this condition is easily diagnosed by clinical evaluation by any Doctor as the heart beats will be more prominent on the right side and aided by X-ray of the chest, ultrasonography of the abdomen.

Please get these things done as a routine for pain in abdomen.

May I know a few details please?
Since when have you got the pain?
Any investigations or clinical examination by any Doctor?
Any changes in the stool (bowel habits) and urination?

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries, please give feedback.
