It was a umbilical hernia surgery. Not big or an emergency repair. Surgery took approx 1 hr. I was under general anesthesia. I had an iv on the top of my hand and I do believe the vein was obstructed the entire time and the fluid did not go in my body.
With the info I gave, would not havi g IV fluids going in my body during or after the surgery have any negative effects on me physically or mentally?
Brief Answer:
no sir i would not
Detailed Answer:
it has no negative effect on your body by any mean, umbilical hernia is not a major surgery as you mentioned and if the vein was obstructed, then the fluids will not run through it and it will stop by its self. Do not worry. The most important thing that the operation had gone smoothly without any complication .
