Question : hi personal question here, i am asking about the use of vaseline jelly for masterbation. if the product were to enter the urethra could it become dried and cause a blockage and seal pores in there from over the time use? are there any other side effects from using vaseline over time with masterbating such as urinary tract infections or damage to the meatus of the penis from its use ? thank you

                                    Brief Answer:
it can cause bacterial growth and blockage.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.
For masturbation purposes, Petroleum Jelly like vaseline is fine but dont use it for insertion into urethra, as it leaves residue behind and can lead to bacterial growth (or yeast). Also it can seal pores from over the time use.
It must be washed off once you are done.
Also, It is not meant to be left on the surface of the skin like a lotion or cream, as this can cause issues with dryness in the future due to skin breakdown.
Hope this answers your query.

                                    thanks doctor the reply,
so will the residue eventually dissolve on its own into the skin and are there pores in the meatus itself?
no vaseline was intentionally inserted, only small amounts may have entered the opening. i am curious as to know whether access amounts can secret further down into the urethra canal and is any surgery necessary?

                                    Brief Answer:
the small residue will not cause problem
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow-up query.
The small amounts will was away itself as you urinate. But always maintain good hygiene.
Meatus itself means opening.
Yes the excess amounts can enter further in urethra. The treatment or surgery would depend on the current status of the problem. Every case might not need surgery.
Hope this answers your query.
Thanks.
Take care.
