Brief Answer:
Acne not influenced by food

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care questions.

You are curious what foods may impact or cause acne. In years past doctors counseled patients to avoid fatty foods like French fries or fried chicken as a cause for acne. This is no longer accepted theory. There are no foods that cause acne.

Acne is caused from skin pores becoming blocked and then a small focus of infection causing the acne.

To help control acne we recommend treatment with a regular soap and water for cleaning face and affected areas. Treatment may also include oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics, topical acids or oral Retin A. This types of medications either work to reduce the chance for infections or they eat the outer layer of skin to keep pores open.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact HCM again with your medical questions and concerns
