Brief Answer:
Not a concern if you have not felt palpitations.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Taking azithromycin and lexapro can cause irregular heart beats in a small number of people. This side effect is rare and can even be seen in patients taking azithromycin without lexapro but the chances of such a situation are much greater when azithromycin is taken with lexapro.

The half life of azithromycin is about 57 hours in females and in over two days the concentration will be reduced by half. In another two days it will become one fourth. After seven days it will be one eighth or 12 percent. In this way, the azithromycin will get eliminated almost completely from your system and by the end of one week.

If you are not a heart patient and have not felt any palpitations then there is no concern for any more adverse reactions from the recent dose of azithromycin.

Research has shown that azithromycin when taken for 5 days, the associated cardiac death is most pronounced among patients with a high baseline risk of cardiovascular disease. Since you have stopped after taking for two days hence the risk is small.

Please do not worry about azithromycin in your system reacting with lexapro. Be informed that you should never take these two medications together.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
