What Are The Possible Effects Of Switching From Humalog To Novolog?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
There is no difference between the two insulines.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I can understand your concern regarding the switch of the type of insuline.
I would inform you that both Humalog and Novolog are both rapid insulines, that means that they start the effect soon after injection, they peak 1 hour after injection and they effect last from 2 to four hours.
There isn't any considerable difference between them, Novolog starts the effect 5 to 10 min. after injection and Humalog 10 to 15. So the only thing that you may change is just to eat a bit earlier after injecting the insulin.
Regarding the dose, you will keep the same, but you need to check the blood sugar 2 hours after injection and to adjust the dose.
Hope the information is helpful.
