What Are The Possible Repercussions Of Exposure To Some Mold In Squirt Gun?

Question: Yesterday I put my 2 grandsons in the bath tub with squirt guns. The squirt guns had been sitting in the garage and I thought they were empty. The boys, age 2 and 6 were squirting each other when I saw some dark flecks in the bath water. I now realize there was probably some mold in one of the squirt guns. They were washing in the water. Later, I thought about it and bathed them again in the other bathtub. Would this sort of exposure cause illness? Should I concern their mother about this?

It is highly unlikely that anything adverse has happened to them, especially since they were bathed again and they have remained well. It is not something I would worry about, nor would I feel and obligation to report it to their mother.

Typically, if any symptoms appear at all, they will appear within the first 24-48 hours. I agree, this is unrelated to croup.
