What Are The Potential Benefits And Risks Of Natural Juice And Pulp From Aloe Vera?
Thanks for posting your query on XXXXXXX
Aloe vera is a plant whose potential benefits are being explored in a big way now. Yes it can be consumed in direct form from the plant but with certain precautions .
It should be consumed soon after getting the gel from plant rather than storage because then it will require preservatives and storage facilities.
It should be started in small amounts and then to be increased gradually.
Some patients may have allergy to aloe and thus reaction may occur. Some case of liver dysfuntion are described rarely by consuming direct plant extract.
It may cause pain abdomen , cramps , diarrhoea etc.
Since it is not an allopathic drug so no drug trials are there for its potential side effects. I advise you to consult your treating doctor first and then start taking aloe as you are diabetic only when he recommends that to you because it has some action of sugar lowering so blood sugars need to be monitored closely
Take care.
