Brief Answer:
Avoid the bike ride.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

In the present scenario, you need to strictly follow the spine ergonomics.Riding a bike will not be good as the posture while one is sitting on a bike is not optimal for spine health.
You can walk on stairs, only and only when absolutely required.Posture while on walking stairs,is also not healthy for spine.

Ergonomics play a very important role while sitting on a chair.Sitting for long hours definitely should be avoided.Chair should be dynamic rather than fixed.Eyes should gaze in the centre while sitting.Buttocks should be pressed against the back of the chair. Please consult an expert physiotherapist for proper ergonomic tips. That will be of definite help.

Again, walking long distance should be avoided, for the obvious reasons,as it may also cause damage to the already compromised spine.

If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Local transport bus or metro train is better option.I suggest you to avoid going on bike from now onwards.Take this as an adaptation in life,if possible.

Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for the answers.

Can you let me know if I can ever ride a bike for at least like for just upto 5 kms to reach out to local transport area.

If I can tell me how much I can ride.

If I cannot ride do let me know so that I will walk to reach the transport.

Thank you in advance for the answer.

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
There is no meter to measure how much.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I hope you understand that there is no meter to measure how much you can ride the bike. There are no strict guidelines about it.Its just that more you avoid it,better it is for you.It is just not possible to quantify it.

If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
