What Are The Repercussions Of Accidentally Injecting Hydrogen Peroxide Into The Vein?
Depends on concentration of the solution.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Hydrogen peroxide will readily converted to water and oxygen by the action of enzyme called catalase. At low concentration the oxygen will simply dissolve in the blood doesn't necessarily result in any serious outcome.
But, if the solution of hydrogen peroxide is highly concentrated, it will release more amount of oxygen and thus cause tissue damage and can result in tissue damage including necrosis(tissue death) of your blood vessels.
The commonly available formulation is less concentrated and generally does not cause any serious problems.
You are injected a small volume and you are asymptomatic as of now, So I think you are safe and nothing much to worry.
I suggest you to consult a physician ans get evaluated for any late manifestations.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks.
