My wife Saritha has applied soda with aloevera on her face, after few seconds her face started burning so immediately she washed her face, but still the scar remained. Please see the attached picture for more clarity. Suggest good remedy.

Good evening Doctor for your quick response and apologies for getting back to you lately, as I did not check your message. My wife applied around 3 months back and now she do not have any itching or pain. But a black spot. Let me know if you need any other information

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, depigmenting cream & sunscreen

Hi
She has developed post inflammatory hyperpigmentation because of the reaction to soda and aloevera.
If I was her treating doctor I would recommend her to apply depigmenting creams like a cream based on modified kligman formula.
It contains a combination of tretinoin, hydroquinone and flucinolone.
Various brands containing this combination are available in the market like triglow cream.
She should apply this cream on the dark spots at night and use a broad spectrum sunscreen on the entire face at intervals of 3-4 hours during the day time.
This cream is a prescription drug and should be used under the strict supervision of the dermatologist to monitor any side effects.
Besides this ask her to avoid direct sunlight and make use of umbrella, sunglasses and scarf whenever out in the sun.
