What Are The Repercussions Of Missing A Dosage Of Nifedipine?
Question: I take 1 tablet of Nefedipine Er 30 MG Tab daily in the evening. I missed last nights dose. And I fell asleep after dinner tonight, and just woke up and am not sure that I took it tonight. I went into the kitchen to take it but the bottle was turned upside down in the zipper purse which usually means I took it. What should I do? Can I wait until tomorrow night to take it?

I recommend.
Take no additional dosage now, continue with your daily dose of night nifedipine Er, instead of 8 pm take it today between 5-6 pm, avoid too much of salt today
Why I say so :
1) we are not sure whether you took it or not, additional dosage may push the pressure down which is not justified.
2) the ER in drug stands for extended release, it means that it is slowly released over 24 maintain average blood pressure
3) 30 is the minimum dose available and it's a single drug your are taking, it means that you need for anti hypertensive medication is not high and hence your pressure must be nit be very high to start with, so a borderline increase today will not be a problem.
Lastly if you have the blood pressure measuring instrument at home, after lunch you may take the recording and if higher than 140 upper one and 90 the lower one you can take the pill then.
