Question: sir i was bitten by dog and I take five dose of rabies vaccine... within one week of last dose i was bitten by dog i am not sure of it.. it is scratch or bite??? i was in fear so i take another two 0,3 dose of rabies vaccine... so this is harmful???? Does vaccine overdose cause rabies??? what are side effects of rabies vaccine??? i take abhayrab vaccine..is it safe?? Does vaccine cause rabies?? what should happen if you take extra shot of rabies vaccine???

I shall answer your questions one by one

1. Over dosage of vaccine does not give any further benefit than the normal dosing. It is not recommended however it will not cause any harm to you
2. Rabies vaccine does not cause rabies
3. The usual side effects of rabies are fever , musculoskeletal pain and join pain. Please approach your doctor if you have any of these
4. Rabies vaccine is contraindicated in patients allergic to rabies

I take vaccine is as per reexposure schedule or not??? It is ok?? Does abhayrab vaccine is safe???
Vaccine contains inactivated virus.... So it is harmful if take too much vaccine within short period of time???

1. some individuals will be allergic to the vaccine, on giving the vaccine they develop severe itching and fall in blood pressure, in such patients it is contraindicated
2. re exposure vaccination is not required until two years of receiving the completed schedule of the vaccine
3. Taking excess dose of vaccination is not recommended. It could harm you.

i take two dose within week of last fifth dose because of reexposure.... i read that only two dose required after full vaccination for another bite.... i take within week of last dose... does it harmful??? it causes rabies??? The rabies vaccine which you have taken is safe and there is nothing to worry about. You will not get rabies by over vaccinating. Relax.
Incubation period varies between 1 to 3 months

Serious side effects of rabies vaccine are 1. Extreme allergy known as anaphylaxis 2. Fever 3. Generalised muscle pain and weakness

it says vaccine contains virus inactivated by beta propiolactone... beta propiolactone is carcinogen... so it affects me??? should I worry about it???

Beta Propiolactone is known carcinogen but it does not cause cancer at the levels you are exposed to. I dont think you need to worry about it
