What Are The Risks Of HIV Infection After Protected Anal Sex?

Question: tried to receive anal sex for maybe 1 min. unknown status of guy. saw him re adjust condom so believe he had condom on. but still nervous if it was damaged. how high of a risk of hiv?
Brief Answer:
protected anal intercourse has negligible risk for HIV
Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
Thanks for posting your query
Anal recipient sex has more risk than other type of sexual activities. As you had protected exposure, the risk becomes negligible. However testing after 12 weeks of the exposure and ruling out the least possibility of HIV is the only way to ascertain status. When you are not sure about the intactness of the condom during the act, getting yourself tested or getting your partner tested is the ideal option.

now just say the condom had broke... just is bring it to a HIGH risk?like I said it was a brief encounter.. but since I saw him re adjust the condom I assume it was still intact
Brief Answer:
broken condom increases the risk
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
If the condom is broken, the risk does not depends on the duration of the contact, but on the partner's HIV status and the viral load of the individual. If the condom remained intact the risk is negligible. There is chance for anybody to remain uninfected in spite of having a contact with an infected person. Only the test result can be the final.
