What Are The Risks Of Contracting HSV-2 Through Oral Sex?

Posted on Thu, 14 Mar 2024
Question: I received a blowjob from an escort, but I used a condom. The escort licked and kissed my testicles, shaft, and end of my penis before putting the condom no but lightly. She never had my penis inside her mouth without the condom. I didn't rub my genitals on hers either. I wanted to know what is my risk of getting HSV 2?

Brief Answer:
No risk of HSV

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you.
I am Dr kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have noted your concern

Very less risk, if at all. HSV 2 commonly causes genital herpes whereas HSV 1 usually infects the area around oral cavity. A condom protected oral sex is safe as far as risk of transmission HSV is concerned. Licking on genital skin (shaft and scrotum) confers no risk of transmission of HSV because intact skin does not provide access to the virus.

Could any small type of chaffing from me masturbating be a risk? I was a little raw from earlier in the week, but I feel that it heal up. Just wanted to know that too.
