What Are The Risks Of Taking Unwanted 72 Pill Twice In A Week?

Question: Hello Doctor My wife had Unwanted 72 pill 3 days back. But unfortunately yesterday night, the condom ruptured again and ejaculation had happened. If she takes another pill of Unwanted 72 what are the risks? Should she go for the pill or not? She is not ready for a child now but at the same time I dont want to risk her health. Please help.

Brief Answer: Pill can be taken but vomiting can occur. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX Unwanted 72 can be used twice in a week BUT the side effects like vomiting and nausea will be there. Make sure you do not do this again as unwanted 72 is only for emergencies and from next cycle you can use oral contraceptive pills regularly if condoms are getting torn. If you really don't want a child go for the pill . There are no other risks other than vomiting for which she can take Ondan lozenges . But DONOT take unwanted 72 more than TWICE. Thanks a lot Dr. But I was reading on internet that taking this pillmay cause inability to get pregnant permanently. Please explain how much is the risk.Also she had taken one more pill of unwanted 72 on 4th of march. So please sueggest how safe it is taking for the third time with last one being 3 days back. Please help urgently.

Brief Answer: can take 1 more pill but dont do this again Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX Sorry for the delay in answering as i was busy attending some patients. Unwanted 72 will NOT affect pregnancy but if taken frequently will cause her periods to be irregular and hormonal changes. I will STRICTLY advise you to not do this again . For this time you can give her another pill but do not keep doing this .
