What Are The Sexual Side Effects Of Finasteride?

Question: Hi,

I have taken finasteride for 3 years for treating hairloss which resulted in adverse sexual sideeffects such as lower libdo, erectyle dysfunction etc. i stopped taking finasteride 2.5 years ago but still the sideeffects are not gone. Recently my testosterone levels showed 169ng/dl( test taken at 5pm). Please suggest me a treatment which will not affect my fertility.

Hi,

ED and loss of libido is caused by finasteride temporarily and is reversed in few months.

Please get evaluation of blood sugar to rule out diabetes and also get blood pressure checked to rule out hypertension.

You can take sildenafil ( viagra) in consultation with your doctor. This medicines if taken before sex will enhance erection and will help you.

You can also take testesterone injections regularly under guidance of an XXXXXXX to improve ED.

These medicines wont affect your fertility.

I heard that clomid will help in natural production of testosterone. Please let me know if this is s better treatment
