What Are The Side Effects Of Cilest?
Question: I have recently started taking cilest again (I'm on my fourth day) after a break of a month (approx). Since taking it, I've been feeling low, sad & have had mood swings. This is unusual for me. I thought I may be feeling like this due to PMS but again, I don't really get this.
I am under some stress at the moment but don't typically feel like this.
Could my current mood be connected to retaking cilest?

Brief Answer:
yes mood changes likely due to cilest
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Cilest is a contraceptive containing oestrogen and progesterone hormones.
Mood changes and depression are very common side effects of this drug.
Your problem has been started after starting the drug means problem is due to cilest only. 4 days stress can not cause depression suddenly. However stress may be additive factor to this side effects.
At this stage you should stop the tablet and consult your gynecologist. Use other method of contraception like condom for a while.
Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
