Brief Answer:
They have almost similar efficacy and side effects

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthacaremagic.

Both pristiq and effexor belong to same SNRI class of drugs and do not differ much in either efficacy or side effects.

I am not sure 37.5 mg will be sufficient for you as the effective dose of Effexor ranges from 75 mg per day to 300 mg per day. The effective dose for individual patient can only be worked out after increasing the dose slowly and finding the right dose.

I agree with initial starting dose of effexor but you need to take care as with increasing dose cost will also increase.

'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".
Thanks
