What Are The Side Effects Of Levipil And Zeptol?

side effects vary from person to person..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome to HCM,
I can understand your concern,
Side effects of any anti-epileptic medication is several and therefore they should always be taken under strict supervision of the prescribing and treating Neurologist..
Levipil is a relatively newer generation of anti-epileptic (Levetiracetam) while Zeptol is basically a novel ant-epileptic, Carbamazepine in it's controlled release form..
The common side effects of both of them include, Dizziness , drowsiness (mild), light-headedness, nausea or vomiting, loose motion, loss of appetite, lack of interest, nervousness, tremors weight gain or loss and several others..
Levetiracetam, on long term can be responsible for hepatic dysfunction, pancreatic dysfunction, bone marrow suppression, skin rash, hair fall, emotional lability, lack of sleep, visual disturbances, muscular pain, upper respiratory tract infection to name a few (there are numerous other side effects besides this)..
On other hand, Carbamazepine also responsible for numerous side effects over long term, i.e. mood changes, visual disturbances (specially double vision and/ blurred vision), metabolic disturbances (dis-equilibrium of certain parameters like calcium, vitamin D- although till date, study results are inconclusive and ongoing, so not absolute), vertigo, loss of co-ordination and several others.. Although you should note that the Controlled Release version is considered quite safe, and usually associated with quite less side effects..
With all these being said, if at all any suspicion arises regarding any drug induced side effects, you should report it to the prescribing neurologist for a detailed clinical check-up and few relevant investigations as per the findings..

severe Vitamin D Deficiency..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back,
Well, although you haven't shared your reports here, I took a look at the other queries and reviewed the reports, and it's suggestive of severe Vitamin D deficiency..
Follow the advises -
Foods rich in vitamin D should be focused to take, Milk (fortified, available in all big supermarkets and dept. stores) and milk products like yogurt, buttermilk, cheese etc., hard boiled eggs, lean meat like chicken, fish(mainly sea fish eg. sardine, tuna, herring, cod etc.), ground nuts, mushrooms, sesame seeds, almonds etc.
Outdoor activities like daily jogging, walking, exercises (even simple indoor free-hand exercises can also be done) in daytime.. along with this few minutes of daily sunlight exposure of the body(15-20 min in the morning ~ 8-10 am), as it'll help in natural synthesis of Vitamin-D in the body..
Medicine are in form of supplementation only, you need to start taking
Vitamin D3 60,000 IU Once a Week for next 8 weeks (available in both Capsule as well as XXXXXXX form, please check with your local pharmacy for availability), you can take it either with or after meals..
After completion of 8 weeks, Vitamin D3 1000 IU (available in both Capsule as well as XXXXXXX form) Once daily for next 3 months..
Tab Calcium Carbonate or Calcium Citrate 500 mg Once daily after food for next 3 months.. (All these are prescription based medication only, so please get the appropriate prescription from your local physician)..
You need to get the Vitamin D3 level and serum Calcium levels checked again after this to decide on further course of action (in general, practitioner's do advice to recheck it after 6 months, however, as this is severe, you should recheck it after 3 months only to decide the further course of action, do follow-up with the Orthopedician as he'd already advised earlier)..

none as such..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Don't worry so much, it's largely based on tolerability, and different individuals have different endurance and body metabolism so it's always variable, thus should be taken under medical supervision..
