Brief Answer:
Taking iPill within 1 hour gives 95 percent safety, please wait for periods

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. There is nothing to worry as you have taken the emergency pill within 1 hour of unprotected sexual intercourse. You are more than 95 percent safe because you took iPill at the right time. Less than 5 percent chances of pregnancy is there.

2. Taking iPill can cause early or delayed bleeding in most women taking it. This abnormal pattern bleeding is due to high dose of hormone levonorgestrel 1.5 mg contained in iPill. Hence your period might be early or late for next two cycles. Slight bleeding and irregular periods is a known side effect of taking iPill and does not confirm pregnancy. It is not possible to tell exactly when you will your next periods.

3. Please use condoms to prevent unwanted pregnancy and when having sexual intercourse with partner whose sexual health is unknown.

4. Taking more than one iPill in 3 months can cause serious side effects like ovarian cysts, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, irregular cycles and infertility.

5. If you do not get proper periods even a week after the expected date which is around 4 May 2015 then please do a home pregnancy test.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be implantation bleeding

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. It is unlikely to be an implantation bleeding. Slight bleeding a week after taking iPill is seen in most women and is due to the hormone effects.

2. Please do not worry as you have done the right thing in taking the iPill within 1 hour.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
iPill is necessary but you will have to bear with side effects

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. You should have insisted on your partner to use condoms yesterday. You have taken a big risk again and there is every chance of pregnancy even if he ejaculated outside the vagina.

2. The iPill you took last week will not protect you from pregnancy due to unprotected sex you had yesterday.

3. This is because even if he did not ejaculate inside, there is every possibility of sperm in the pre ejaculatory fluid getting deposited in the vagina.

4. Taking another iPill is important to stop a pregnancy but can cause significant side effects like irregular bleeding or no periods for more than 2 months, cysts in the ovary and nausea, bloating sensation. This is because of the high level of hormones in the pill.

5. Taking an iPill is necessary to stop a pregnancy due to unprotected sex you had yesterday but you will have to bear with the side effects. If you do not want to take iPill then please wait for your periods to start. If they do not happen even after a week from the expected date then do a home pregnancy test, and if found positive then please consult a gynecologist.

6. Please ask your partner to use condoms if you do not desire to have an unwanted pregnancy. Ejaculating outside is not reliable and can always cause pregnancy.

7. As told earlier, iPill must be used approximately only once in 3 months and in an emergency. If you continue to take iPill regularly then you are putting your own health at risk

Hope your query is answered.
