What Are The Side Effects Of Mifepristone And Misoprostol?
Question: Hi,my gf is 6 weeks pregnant. She took mifepristone yesterday and will be taking misoprostol tomorrow. What are the side effects she will be facing? What is the normal signs and symptoms of successful abortion? Does she need to take any antibiotics? What are the abnormal effects?she is planning to take misoprostol in the evening by 1800 hrs. By what time will she start bleeding?I am really worried and need ur consult.Will there be any effect in her health. She travels daily for her job.Can she travel for her job the next day?.which painkillers should she take?Will her abortion be known by others?please suggest. I am from XXXXXXX

I understand your anxiety about the issue.
Abortion is not a simple and easy thing in the first place so should be taken seriously.
So she should ideally take leave tomorrow and a day after and take the pills in morning tomorrow instead of evening so that in case she starts bleeding profusely as seen in 5-7% of cases she has a full day to access a good gynaecologist at the earliest.
Symptoms start as slight bleeding with abdominal pain after about 2-6 hours of intake of pills and then there occurs a gush of bleeding with sudden severe pains for about 1-2 hours which then expels some clots and eventually everything settles down.
Bleeding will continue till 3-7 days like that in normal periods and thus she should not Panick till the bleeding is profuse.
Avoid painkillers which can cause incomplete abortion by interfering with uterine contractions which are important for expulsion of baby.
Antibiotics are usually not needed if abortion process and bleeding stops in 3-4 days.
No one can make out about this abortion if it gets away with these pills alone but in case and surgical evacuation is needed then it can leave the cervix appear parous which can be identified by an experienced gynaecologist (but not by any non medical person).

Will her health go down and will she become weak? Will she undergo severe incontrollable pain?Willshe be physically weak? Will she loss weights?what are the foods that is to be taken by her to be healthy at the earliest?which all food should be avoided for the successful abortion?

My gf vomited after 15 mins of consuming misoprostol. She had cramps and vomited. She consumed misoprostol at 1735 hrs and as of now she hasn't bleed. Since she had vomited,does this mean that she has failed the abortion? What should she so now? Should she start the method again with mifepristone? I am worried. Please suggest me thoroughly. Has she failed the abortion? She is having mild cramps as of now.
