Question: My doctor has prescribed me mirap for my depression, I am taking them for about six weeks now and feel no different. I have dizzy spells that make me fall foreward and fall, especially when I bend. I just feel thiese tablets are not suitable for me, please help?
Brief Answer:
drug change indicated.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
Mirap contains active ingredient mirtazapine.
This drug causes sedation as a side effect. In many cases, the sedation becomes intolerable to patients. They experience dizzy feeling and partial sleepiness.
I think you are experiencing side effects of Mirap.
I would suggest a change in antidepressant drug as your symptoms of depression are not improving. Drugs like escitalopram or sertraline (prescription drugs) are better and safer than mirtazapine.
Kindly discuss this with your doctor and request a drug change.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.
