Question: Yes please. I'm on the following medication:
Nexium
Imovane
Lexapro
Femoston-conti
I'm just concern with the affects of long term use.

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
These medicines definitely have there side effects but it's not that everyone gets it.
I am here by discussing with you the long term side effects of all these drugs.
1. Nexium : Relatively a very safe drug but can cause Vitamin B12 and Calcium deficiency in few people in very long term.

2. Imovane: is a drug used mostly for sleeping issues and anxiety. It can cause dry mouth , impaired concentration as well as weight gain.

3. Femosten conti : A hormonal replacement therapy. A lot of side effects it has like weight gain, thrombosis, increase risk of heart attack, stroke.

4. Lexapro : SSRI group Anti depressant which causes weight gain, cardiac issues , increased sleepiness, impaired attention.

I have just discussed the prominent side effects of all the drugs. If you check the list is very long as different people have different side effects.
The most trouble some drug amongst these is Femosten Conti.

Thanks Dr. What would you suggest i take for pre menopause. My hormone levels are almost not excisting, night sweats, mood swings etc. i could not take it anymore therefore my dr put me on Femosten conti. I still have my uterus, ovaries etc, my monthly period stopped about a year ago and the the above systems started.

Hi. See Menopausal symptoms are faced by each and every woman. Some feel them in a non troubling way and some get troubled.
So decision of taking hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) is based on you and your treating doctor. If you have any cardiac issues or you are overweight then you should avoid HRT as far as possible.
These symptoms are just transient and if you can cope that's the best.
I personally prefer to give my patients Soy isoflavones and multivitamin compositions. A very famous and commonly available one is Menopace ISO.
I get very good results with it.
You can discuss with your doctor to switch you on this.
