What Are The Side Effects Of Novelon?
Question: Hi, As I was 15 days pregnant then I had used unwanted Kit. Cycle is continued now but getting spot. Then I had taken suggestion from Gyn doctor Now I am taking novelon tablets from last 5 days, Is there any side effect. And can I have sex these days ?

Thanks for the query to hcm,
If there has been continued bleeding still in form of spotting it is suggested that you should get a baseline serum beta hcg test done to check for hcg levels which if high are indicative of possible retention of products of conception even after use of unwanted kit. This may not be seen in an ultrasound though so hcg levels are recommended.
If levels are high then a dilatation and curettage should be contemplated after a transvaginal ultrasound. If the levels are low then novel for 5 days should help you stop the bleed and you can resume your sexual activity regularly post stoppage of spotting.

Thanks Sir for promt response, But spoting is stopped after 3 days when i Started to take novelon medicne, Suggest me should I countinued the same medicine to complete the course ? Ant what about my pregnency ? And can I have sex these days ?

as you had taken unwanted , pregnancy should have been aborted but the concern here is if by any chance there would have been retained products of conception which would have been the probable cause for the continued bleeding in your case. Hence hcg levels are advised.
Novelon for 3 days can stop bleeding yes, but as it is an oral contraceptive pill , if the bleeding doesn't reoccur for 48 hrs then you may stop it.
You can have protected sex if you are comfortable.
