What Are The Side Effects Of Piggy Paint?

Question: Hi, I am in the middle of a custody battle with my ex who is very problematic. We have a 2 year old, her name is Emmalise. I painted her nails the other day with a toxin free nail polish, and he is making it seem like it's bad for her and should not be used. I then bought a nail polish for kids called Piggy Paint- water based solution, toxin free, and hypoallergenic. He called our pediatrician who is very hard to get a hold of and says that she said, she would not recommend painting her nails with nail polish. I personally do not believe it, but either way this was before I bought the kiddie nail polish. I have tried getting a hold of her but have been unsuccessful so I thought I would just ask online, that way I can get something on writing since I am sure Emma's pediatrician would not want to provide us with anything for court. I am going to attach the images of the pain from the website. I would appreciate hearing your opinion. Other things you should know, she sucks her thumb, but I do not paint her thumb, and after painting her nails she is fine and has not experienced any adverse reactions. I just want to know what pediatricians have to say on the matter. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Not advised to paint her nails...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Usually, it is not recommended to paint the nails to girls younger than 5 years old, and especially those younger than 3 years old.

This is to ensure that we are not causing accidents like swallowing of the chemicals or putting in a harmful environment.

As in your case, although the Piggy paint claims that it is as natural as Mug, to my opinion, it is too early to paint your daughter's little fingers. Although she is having the habit to suck he thumb, however, you cannot control if she will suck other fingers too.

For her safety, try to avoid painting her fingers. When this little lady will grow, you can teach her how to take care of herself and become a wonderful girl.

All the best and God bless!
