Brief Answer:
Plan B one step is safe and effective emergency contraception

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Plan B one step is a very effective and safe medication for prevention of pregnancy in unprotected sex or a condom accident. Of taken within 72 hours of intercourse, Plan B will prevent pregnancy in 90 percent of cases. It may affect the timing of the woman's menstrual cycle, but this is normal and no cause for worry and normal cycles will resume the next month provided that the woman does not become pregnant.

I generally recommend to my patients who use condoms for contraception to keep a Plan B kit at home so if an accident occurs the pill can be taken as promptly as possible. It has no dangers for the woman and no long-term effects.

I hope I was able to answer your question today and that my advice was helpful. Please do it hesitate to contact me further if you need any additonal assistance.

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
