Brief Answer:
Can be used
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Ofcourse you are allowed another question, but a related query
But my friend, I had to take care of my in hospital patients too.
So sorry for the delay
Yes Zocor, or simvastatin can be used for high cholesterol.
It was one of the older medicines that was prescribed for dyslipidemia.
There are now newer medicines like atorvastatin and rosuvastatin.
This is one of the safest group of drugs.
But like all medicines, there are problems with it as well
One needs to take care of the following aspects
1. it may cause myalgia or muscle pains in a subset of patients using it
2. since it is metabolized there, liver levels may be raised
3. some patients on it have been found to have higher than normal sugars
Best of luck
