What Are The Side Effects Of Versed?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: I have had colonoscopy X 2, and cataract surgery X 2 in the past two years.
I have had "small doses" of versed with no problem.
I had a lumbar nerve ablation six weeks ago – and had a SEVERE reaction to? Versed – and? Fentanyl: I lost 48 hours of memory, lost short-term and long-term memory for about two weeks…
My doctor says "I only gave you 1 mg of Versed – and no fentanyl"
the recovery room nurse says that I had both Versed and Fentanyl.
? Is it possible that I had such a SEVERE reaction to 1 mg Versed???
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Can happen when both are used.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
1mg of Versed is a small dose. It is not likely to cause such a strong reaction like loss of memory for 2 weeks. If both Fentanyl and Versed are combined then such a reaction is possible in a sensitive individual. The response to these drugs can vary widely between individuals. It depends on the tolerance of an individual. But all these side effects are usually reversible and next time be careful to mention about this reaction to your physician.
I hope this answers your query.
