What Are The Side Effects Of Multiple Doses Of Rabies Vaccination?
Question: Hello sir..
I was bitten by dog and I take full five dose of rabies vaccine... after that i was fear for dog bite and getting rabies after 8 month i take another five dose of rabies vaccine.... And after 1 month i take another five dose of abhayrab rabies vaccine... So i take total three full course of rabies vaccine within one year due to anxiety.... will i get serious side effects of it???? Takin extra dose of vaccine cause rabies or another serious side effects in future??? Pls sir reply me...

I have gone through your history and understand your concern.
Over treatment in case of dog bite is not at all a problem. But in your case there is no need of taking frequent anti rabies vaccine.
As you have taken complete vaccination at the first time, you will be having protective anti body titres to fight against the rabies virus if any.
As you have taken Anti rabies vaccine three times in a year it will induce same antibody titres but you do not require so much of vaccine.
Most common side effects will be mild redness and pain at the injection site nothing else.
I would assure you that you are 100% free from rabies and remove the anxiety from your mind.
