What Are The Side Effects Radio Frequency Treatment?
Question: Hi. I had a radiofrequency done about a week ago. I have degenerative disc disease, bone on bone in lower back around l5 and s1. i had the radiofrequency done because of compressed nerve. i also had hip replacement in august. Yesterday my lower back around waist really started to hurt as it does today. Hard to bend over. I was doing good before that. Could this be a side effect from radiofrequency? what can i do to help this pain I am experiencing? thanks!

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.It is unlikely to be due to radio frequency treatment as it was done a week back and your pain stated yesterday. It is part of general backache due to lumbar spondylosis ( as it common in your age). Its treatment is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. Comfortable position of rest is lateral position with hip and knee both flexed . Glucosamine, Diacerine and Mecobalamin are of help. Vitamin D3 supplements are of help if found low on blood test. You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Thanks so much again. i noticed when I got up from the chair,it also is sore around the front and above the waist too as well as my lower back. Is that still caused from lower back pain? I cant believe this came on so sudden. Everything was going so well. so disappointed

My husband is determined that the radiofrequency caused this terrible back pain I am having because of the nerves dying. Why out of no where did I get this awful back ache? How long does the average pain like this last? I cannot bend or anything like that, but I can walk. Thanks

Hi. went to pain mgt. Dr said most likely I pulled something, but I don't know how. Anyway, he gave me an caudal epidural injection. So far I don't feel any relief. Do you think this will help, and if so, how long does it take to work. I am not even sure what this injection is. Is it for pain? Thanks
