What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of COPD?
Question: I was in the hospital 3 weeks ago with pneumonia in both lungs, pleurasy and chronic bronchitis. I have all the symptoms of COPD, however, I still need that breathing test. When I breathe there is often a thumping noise I can hear and feel either on my sternum or one of my ribs. What could that be?
Brief Answer:
Steam inhalation would be greatly beneficial.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that you have congested chest. In such a case (including the probability of COPD) steam inhalaion would provide relief. Water in form of vapor would reach deep inside and would help in diluting the thickened mucus which is the likely cause of your problems.
I would also insist you to get a blood count done. It would help in evaluating whether you have a chest infection and whether antibiotics would help. It would also help in understanding the allergic component that is often associated.
