What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Umbilical Hernia?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Oct 2017
Question: I am 65 years old and my last c-section was 33 years ago. Cut from belly button down. At the bottom was always sort of wrapped done, instead of straight. My belly button has gotten hard and appears to either be filling in or coming undone. Just about a month this has been happening. I have lost a lot of weight. Am wondering what to do.

Brief Answer:
Umbilical hernia likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
You seem to have umbilical hernia.
This can occur due to weakening of muscles of and around umbilicus or belly button.
This can bulge which increases on coughing and straining, while can reduce periodically .
You should consult a surgeon for proper examination and diagnosis so that further treatment can be done accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
