What Are The Symptoms Of Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI) Or Familial Lethal Insomnia (ILF)?
Question: Last Thursday night, just as I was about to sleep, I felt something inside my penis as I tucked myself in bed. During that time, I didn’t sleep until 12 AM. I also had trouble sleeping until I can sleep at 1:30 AM last Friday and last night. Is it because I felt something inside my penis last Thursday, or is it the sign that I am diagnosed with Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI) or Familial Lethal Insomnia (ILF)?
Brief Answer:
May be related to sleeping problems
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think that the sensation you had in your penis during night may be related to FFI you have been diagnosed.
If you don't have frequent urination, pain and discharge during the day it can just be a psychological issue related to sleeping disorder.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.

Hello again. I don’t have any problems with my penis as it didn’t happen again the next night. I just only went to the bathroom once per night and have no other problems. But the article that I looked up relating to FFI is from 1991. In 1991 after his 40th birthday, XXXXXXX Corke, a XXXXXXX music teacher, started having trouble sleeping. In the following weeks, insomnia worsened and his health deteriorated rapidly. Finally, he couldn't sleep at all. The doctors were puzzled, but could do nothing for him. XXXXXXX was physically and mentally exhausted, and wanted nothing more than to be able to fall asleep. But his brain did not allow it. Video footage of him appearing at a school orchestra concert revealed a frail old man - a far cry from the fit and healthy person he was just a few months earlier. Finally, he was admitted to the hospital and doctors diagnosed him with a very rare genetic disorder discovered just seven years earlier: Familial Lethal Insomnia (ILF). XXXXXXX Corke died in hospital after six months from complete lack of sleep. Could this mean that I might have the same symptoms as XXXXXXX did many years ago?
Also, I don’t urinate frequently like all the time, including at night, which what I said did only once each night. Does this mean I am not diagnosed with FFI and/or ILF?
Brief Answer:
Not much related to FFI
Detailed Answer:
Hello again. Having one sleepless night or any difficulty sleeping sometimes doesn't mean FFI.
Going to bathroom once per night is normal.
There are many other situations related to sleeplessness more common than FFI.
I don't think that your situations is related to this article.
Hope I have answered the question.
