Two years ago one finger in my right hand tingled, today six fingers in my hands tingle, have numbness and a feeling of coldness all the time in the tips of those 6 fingers. Two years ago it was diagnosed as a pinched ulnar nerve. Have a cold and if I cough I must hold my arms close to my body, or both of my whole ulnar nerve goes off and fires. Last week my family practice doctor thought my left bicep had atrophied, compared to my right, also when I squeezed his fingers my left bicep hurt. Tomorrow I see a neurologist, what should I ask in questions about my problems?? Thanks XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be pinched ulnar nerve related.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back with more information.
Tingling of six fingers is unlikely to be due to pinched ulnar nerve. Ulnar nerve problem can cause symptoms in maximum of two fingers- little and ring fingers.
The most likely possibility is pinched nerves in the neck region. MRI of cervical spine may be done to confirm or exclude he diagnosis.
We also need to exclude carpal tunnel syndrome, where the median nerve gets compressed at the level of wrist.
You can discuss these issues with your neurologist.

Saw the neurologist today and he zapped most of the nerves on my left arm and neck. I have a MRI scheduled in two weeks for my neck. My problems include my 2 feet with similar tingling and coldness from 5 plus years ago, I mask the coldness with thermal socks 24/7 and shoes at all times. I can remember being cold, especially my feet, all my life. With your statements and the neurologists direction (MRI) I have the most hope that I have had in almost a decade. Thanks for reading my comments closely, I know things will not happen overnight, but at least we are going a direction I can believe in. Again many thanks, XXXXXXX XXXX
