Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

Urinary tract infections tend to cause fairly typical symptoms. Among the symptoms include urinary frequency and urgency. In addition discomfort with urination or dysuria is often a presenting symptom. The symptoms can wax and wane over a period of time but in many cases progresses to increasinglevels of discomfort.

A complete urinalysis and urine culture would provide a definitive diagnosis. If the urinalysis is positive then the culture will help to determine what bacteria is actually causing the infection. This will help treating physicians determine the most appropriate antibiotic if an antibiotic is indicated.

if you're having any of the suspicious symptoms mentioned above then I would recommend that you touch base with your primary care physician for a physical examination and possibly a work up to include urinalysis and culture.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
