What Are The Symptoms Of Diverticulitis?
Question: I have had chronic constipation for over 9 days..and an unexplained lower pelvic pain that pusates in my lower left abdomen. It has been reoccurring for over a month but now it is there all the time. I have had an ultrasound and am having another tomorrow. My Dr. said I needed to get my bowels going so he asked me to take a bottle of citro-mag over five hurs. I finished the bottle 4 hours ago and have not had any bowel movement. I also inserted a glycerin suppository and held it for an hour and there was no fecal matter discharged. I am so uncomfortable. I took a hot bath..no luck. What can I do know as I am in such discomfort and so nauseated. Dr. suspected diverticulitis but I was on two antibiotics for 10 days and the same pian is there but worse. He did a urine test suspecting a kidney stone but found little blood in urine. Did an internal and wonders if it a cyst on my ovary..but no real diagnosis or answer. No fever.

Going by description of constipation and lower abdominal pain ,the cause of your symptoms is likely to be loaded colon. Constipation usually leads to loading of colon with fecal matter. Taking only oral Laxatives which you are already taking won't be very much helpful.
Unloading and evacuation of colon of the fecal matter will help relieve the symptoms. I would suggest you to get Retention Enema twice a day for two days under the guidance of your primary care physician which will help to relieve your symptoms.
Presence of blood in urine requires further evaluation by Ultrasound scan of abdomen.
